The bloodshed across Ellan Vannin has awakened the Mournful King, who has escaped the dungeon that once held him. Drawn to the chaos, he has emerged within the heart of the island, seeking vengeance on all who stand before him. Those brave enough to face the Mournful King will find great rewards, if they survive.
Ellan Vannin has once again become a battleground for all realms.
Players can speak to Lenore within the throne room of Ellan Vannin to obtain the event quests below.
[EV PvP] Blood for the Key
Slay 20 enemies while grouped, or 5 enemies while solo.
- This quest auto completes, auto renews, and awards a Mournful King Key when completed.
- Note you will need space in inventory for this key. Keys do not stack.
[EV PvP] The King’s Key
Defeat the Mournful King in the center of Ellan Vannin.
- This quest auto completes, auto renews, and awards a Mournful King Key when completed.
- Killing players will spawn the Mournful King on Ellan Vannin.
- Note you will need space in inventory for this key. Keys do not stack.
Investigate Crystals
The Dark Crystals are once again back on Ellan Vannin.
- Note this quest does not award Mournful King Keys.
Nevermore Pony
Camps of Nevermore Ponies can be found throughout Ellan Vannin, there is no quest associated with these mobs.
- Slaying a Nevermore Pony will award realm points and a chance drop of a Mournful King Key.
- Note realm points from Nevermore Ponies are only awarded to group sizes of 5 and below.
Additional Event Notes
- The Mournful King dungeon in capital cities has now ended.
- Magic Orbs from player kills remain.
- Enemy Heads will continue to drop from player kills, and the Trophy Hunting quest remains still active.
- The 100% bonuses on Ywain and Gaheris have been decreased to 50% bonuses.
Ellan Vannin
The following changes have been made to facilitate PvP on Ellan Vannin:
- Ellan Vannin island has been turned into a PvP area.
- Towers on Ellan Vannin have been ruined for the duration of the event.
- The throne room of Knoc Meayll is now a safe area where players from all three realms can buff up and teleport above ground via the Obelisk in the center of the room.
- Players can teleport from their realm’s relic town into Knoc Meayll’s throne room via the Ellan Vannin Teleporter NPC on the portal pad.
- Trainers and necessary NPC’s have been added to the throne room.
- A 25% Realm Point bonus has been enabled on the island of Ellan Vannin.
PvP Specific Notes
The PvP nature of this event includes the following:
- Players may create and join cross realm groups
- Everyone not in your group is considered an enemy, and may be attacked
- Chat channels such as Region, LFG, and Advice will be visible to all realms on Ellan Vannin (only)
- Battlegroups and Chat groups will be unavailable on Ellan Vannin for the PvP event
- Trading between realms is not allowed
- Certain spells and abilities have been updated to affect home realms, and will be reverted at the conclusion of the event
- Please note: group porting is not allowed from Ellan Vannin unless you are bound on Ellan Vannin. Single self port remains unchanged.
The Ellan Vannin Blood for the Key event will end on Thursday, November 20th, 2025.
